It may sound insane to treat a young child with antidepressants for a stomach pain issue, however if there isn't anything that can be found physically, it may be a good idea to give prozac a try.
If you don't see improvements in a month then I would say it probably isn't working.
The scary reality is that we live in a dark age of medicine. We really do not have a good understanding of why these drugs work, and why they sometimes don't work.
I would recommend giving it a try. But be cautious, no treatment is without side-effects.
