I've also been dealing with Globus for about 7 years now. At one time I used Ativan and that seemed to be quite effective, unfortunately while I was using Ativan I was also drinking, and this resulted in many blackouts for me. Drinking 2 beers (sometimes more) + taking ativan was a recipe for disaster.
It helps to know what it is. If I didn't know what it was, at the moment, I would be so concerned about the feeling of the lump in my throat I would probably go to the emergency room, but I know that it is just Globus, and it is harmless depsite being very uncomfortable.
I've also developed a social phobia over the last few 7 years, and some fears about religious thoughs thats I have. These things have made it very difficult to hold a job. I've been lucky and now I develop web pages at home, and meet one hour a week with my employer.
I'm not sure what the best way to deal with it is. Sometimes I try to get blood flowing, and take a short jog, or walk, or jump rope, but exercise doesn't seem to be quite enough.
I take enough 60mg of Prozac a day, and I still have frequent depression, and anxiety.
I'm not sure if this will help anyone else, I hope it can. But writing this stuff out to other people seems theraputic for some reason.
Sincerely,
Mark
