Jen, I am not a medical doctor, but I read a lot about health, biochemistry and medical treatment. I have read a fair amount about Prozac. Prozac is a serious medication that helps to prolong the lifetime of serotonin, a neurotransmitter, in the synapses of the brain. It helps people to become more focussed to restore their ability to work & study effectively, for example. I have never heard of it being used for abdominal pain & vomiting. If the doctor is intending it to work through calming the nerves, & therefore the stomach, he should tell you exactly how this would do so, & give you references you can check to be assured this is the best approach.
