swollen fingers and achy toes

Hi I'm 17 years old and I've been experiencing a lot of swelling in my fingers on my right hand. Also my toes feel very achy and it's hard to walk on them. I went to the doctor when the symptoms first started in my ring finger where Xrays were taken. Doctor said I probably just sprained it. However, now all my fingers are swollen. I feel like I'm just freaking out over nothing. Please someone tell me this is nothing.
