My son has been suffering off and on with severe "shooting pains" for about 2 years. He describes them as electrical shocks. They are frequently accompanied by migraine headaches with slight fever, blurry vision and nausea. So far, he has been diagnosed with atypical migraines and Maxalt has been a somewhat effective medication in treating him.
However, we were in an automobile accident a few days ago and my son woke up with intense shooting pains in his joints as well as severe chest pain, in addition to his "regular" atypical migraine symptoms. Any suggestions? The doctors have said they've never seen migraines present like this before, but he does frequently respond to the medication. I'd sure like another track to go on as I feel this is not the "whole picture".
Any ideas?
Thanks. Suzanne
