fear of swallowing in preschool children

My grandson, who is 4, has not eaten anything solid in four days. He will drink milkshakes, nutritional drinks, milk, etc., and eat yogurt and puddings, but refuses to eat anything solid, including candy. He says he's choking. Any suggestions on how to help him overcome this or should he be seen by a doctor. His throat looks fine and his glands are not swollen. We have no idea what started this. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
