My daughter was 6 months old when we found out that she had a vascular ring. We found it due to her reflux. She was put on medicine to control the reflux and the doctors told us that she may be able to go without the surgery so we decided in her best interest to wait and see how it went. She began to have some problems and we found ourselves constantly back and forth to the heart doctor. He finally told us that he felt like it would be in her best interest to move forward with surgery. We decided to wait as long as we could, 3 days after her second birthday she had her surgery, without complications. Three months later she was taken off the reflux medicine. She is now 4 1/2 years old and is perfectly healthy child. I am very happy with our decisions that we made for her.
