After a colonoscopy and endoscopy I was diagnosed with diverticulosis and gerd. Most of my symptoms are aligned with the gerd. However, my primmary symptom was and still is CHRONIC DIARHEA. I was prescribed Protonix for the gerd and a high fiber diet. Nothing for the diarhea. My doctor thinks I'm really constipated and that the diarhea is waste that is pushing past a blockage. He won't listen to me when I tell him that I have not had a truly solid stool in at least 2 years. Now, I am suffering with Diverticulitis - diagnosed at an emergency clinic - after 4 days of severe pain in the middle and right lower abdomen. The high fiber diet and additional Citrucel that I take makes my diarhea worse - to the point of 6-8 bowel movements in the morning - in a 2 hour period. IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE IBS WITH THE DIVERTICULOSIS? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?
