Are you guys from the USA? as I would assume that a chemist or doctor would have told you this-put a little KY jelly on it .this will ease the problem but tends to make it gooey,also it dries out again in a day or to sometimes leaving an even drier head. OTHER OILS AND CREAMS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED as they may cause irritation. Teething gel will just numb the pain and may cause more damage as you can't sense the friction. Wash gently with a non perfumed hypoallergenic wash- part of the problem may be your soap.Finally that white stuff isn't necessarily harmful cf smegma also sloughing skin cells that are exfoliating (normal).If the white stuff is bound on or removes leaving bleeding see a Dr ASAP! RE candida(yeast)infection or cancer(v unlilkely) hope I'VE HELPED
