I think you should kick the guy out, he is obviously not good enough for you. It is very simple just call the cops, lie to them that he threatened you and ask for a restraining order.
He will be out with only the shirt on his back just like that, cops and Judges love to "protect women" if you know what I mean.
Then you have the house and everything in it to yourself, you get the kids and childsupport too, assuming you have kids, it's a piece of cake.
The best part is that women get 1/3 of his pretax income for one child and you know what else, it is taxfree to you so you probably don't have to work for a long time. I know a lot of women who have done it and they have a great life now.
Kick the bum out, who needs a man anyway :)
