acid reflux

my son has acid reflux, he burps and the food is released not outwardly but into the mouth. He has been on zantac 75 for about 3 months, it seemed to help, but lately ( off and on the last 2 weeks )the pain is back as is the reflux.Zantac, tums do not help,should we go to something else or are more tests needed?
