Thanks. I read alot of the others comments or questions about their concerns with GERD, Acid Reflux and Heartburn. My situation is I don't get acid taste in my mouth, I don't get pain under my breast plate, I get the occassional (1x month - 1x 2 months or longer) acid (approx the amount of a soda bottle cap or less) that comes up and burns in the base of my throat that happens around 4am. I eat no later than 8pm and go to bed around midnight every night. I do follow the diet and have become aware of what things could contribute to my potential of having an episode. Anyway I guess I have few questions, 1) Is GERD, Acid Reflux and Heartburn basically the same thing? And if not can one lead to the other? 2) Is it better to have frequent acid reflux so you would treat it on a regular basis or is it better to have the infrequent episode where you may get caught off guard that night and suffer through that night? 3) Once you have acid reflux, is it a situation where it only gets worse unless you are treating it daily with some sort of meds etc, even if you are following diet and exercise? 4) My Doctor said I could take Zantac everyday for the rest of my life and should be ok. Any chance that your body builds up a resistance of following such a regimen to the point where the acid reducer doesn't work for you anymore after a long period of continual use?

Thanks in advance for your response.
