I have probably had GERD for many years but recently it has gotten worse (i'm 43). I am a little dissapointed with my doctor whom I went to see today because of chest pain and sometimes trouble breathing (I have asthma, but not severe). She seemed to feel this was "muscle aches" rather than inside my chest. The only thing she does is to prescribe medication - she did not order any more tests - is this the norm? Any help would be appreciated-
