I had the same thing happen to me 2 or 3 times--I thought I was having a heart attack! My pain was a funny vague burning feeling in the pit of my stomach (unlike my reflux) that radiated to my left chest area, up my neck and down my left shoulder and arm. It was excruitating, at first thought it was some kinda strain and I used capsacian cream and heating pad for a few weeks, then after being up for a few days (and burning my chest with the heating pad!) I finally saw my doctor who promptly did EKG, labs etc and said everything was ok and perhaps it was arthitis! Gave me celebrex and dismissed me! I finally figured out that it was STRESS RELATED (to my daughter moving in and upheaving my life again)--got rid of her and the pain went away only to return when she did! This was about 2 years ago and all is well!
