I have had to nissen fundoplication surgerys. I think that my wrap is still holding because I don't have acid reflux in my esopheghus any more but I still have acid in my stomach which protonix and all the rest doesnt really help much with. Any way I woke up this morning with a pain in my right lung so I went to my sleep apnea doctor because he deals with breathing..........anyway he says that I have pnuemonia in my right lung and pluracy. I haven't had any colds or been sick at all for atleast 2months. But now I have this pain that wont go away right now. He has prescribed antibiotics to get rid of the infection.....I guess my question is does this really happen especially since I thought that I was over experiencing acid reflux....even though I still feel sick to my stomach alot of times with burning sensation etc. But because of the wrap I dont feel it in my throat. And if this can happen what do we do next to get rid of it? The surgeon had expressed thoughts of taking my stomach out because of having problems with hernias etc. Any info or recommendations would be of interest to me. I know that this is just for information purposes only. I dont expect any actual diagnosis unless maybe someone is going thru the exact same thing. Thanks for your input.
