bearing down pains

I have been suffering from a bearing down pain, it moves from my lower stomach to my groin. The pain comes and goes but it doubles me up when it comes on, it last for a couple of minutes at a time over a few days a month. Its in between my periods so not a period pain. It feels as though my insides are dropping. I have never had children and I am have been sterilised. Any ideas?
